COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MPPT TECHNIQUES FOR GRID CONNECTED 3 PHASE SOLAR PV SYSTEM
Main Article Content
Abstract
The world is exploring and accepting the renewable energy resources for power generation as an altenalte way to the conventional one due to the fact that the fossil fuels are exhauating and its use has severely impacted the environment. Power generation through solar energy is gaining the exponential momentum due to its abundant availibility, limitless nature, clean and green source, zero carbon emmision and free usage. The solar photovoltaic (PV) modules are used for converting sun solar energy into electricity. The solar power from the PV modules is variable in nature and it depends upon the solar irradiation and the ambient temperature. In order to extract maximum power from these panels Maximum power point tracking(MPPT) techniques needs to be employed. This paper presents the comparison of four such techniques viz. Perturb and Observe(P&O), Incremental Conductance(IC), Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) and Fuzzy Logic Control(FLC) employed on a 12 KW, 3 phase grid connected inverter system in terms of nature of outpur PV current & power, power loss, efficiency, accuracy & complexity along with the superiority and limitations. The work has been carried out in Matlab Simulink environment.
